FOCUS: How to Facilitate the Chartering Process

This final section deals with the process of chartering. The word chartering derives from the old French word for paper on which in times past agreements were written.

Existing teams can use this process to bring clarity and agreement to changes they need to make to work together more effectively applying the principles identified in the earlier parts of this series of documents. Top team chartering is a process to clarify the company’s direction and define how the executive team will best work together to deploy enterprise resources to achieve the business goals that have been set.

This section is very practical and lays out the six steps we have learned through experience to be essential to develop a sustainable charter that will ensure the team has clarity on all aspects of the work they plan to achieve together.
