Focus - Action Issues
Focus assesses the strength
of an organization's performance on the following Action Issues:
Action Issues #4
The organization is sensitive to its markets and customers.
DESCRIPTION:
Leaders of companies set expectations for the company’s performance and by doing so effectively set standards for the company’s workforce. Some company’s invest a lot of energy in ensuring the goals set are challenging. Other company’s take a less proactive approach and drift along. This is often the difference between a high and average result.
Action Issues #5
High standards of excellence are set for the organization for it's people.
DESCRIPTION:
Customer and market sensitivity is vital to being in tune with any changes in a company’s environment. The closer the company can be attuned to any shifts in its customers the quicker it can adjust to the changing needs of the marketplace. As more products and services have become available, customer loyalty and market stability have both diminished. A high score to this action issue means that management has the knowledge to understand its customer's evolving needs and that the energy of the workforce is focused externally on the customer vs the alternative - focused internally on politics and power. A low score would suggest it would be worthwhile checking what customers really think and need before embarking on a change impacting a product or service line.
